Snöiga Norrland/Snowy Norrland

Vi for norrut igen för att titta på ett hus – av en slump blev det två hus. Intressanta objekt båda två, men tål att tänka på, som vanligt. Det hade snöat kopiöst mycket, så bröderna Nordin blev tvungna att skotta ordentligt för att befria föräldrarnas uppfart från snö.

We went northwards again to look at a house – by chance that became two houses. Interesting objects both of them, but a lot to think about as usual. It had snowed tremendously, so the Nordin brothers had to do lot of shovelling to rid their parents' drive way from snow.

På Sörmlandsleden/At the Soermland trail

Vi fyllde ryggsäcken med varm choklad, kaffe och smörgåsar och gav oss ut på en lite hajk på Sörmlandsleden. Vi stannade och lättade ryggsäcken på en plats med en fantastisk utsikt högt över en liten sjö. På håll såg vi flera skridskoåkare ute i allt det vita. En fin tur på det hela.

We filled the backpacker with hot chocolate, coffee and sandwiches and went for a little hike on the Soermland trail. We stopped and lightened the backpacker at a spot with a fantastic view high above a small lake. At a distance we saw some skaters out there in all the white. A nice walk as a whole.

Alla Hjärtans Dag/Valentine's Day

Vi firar inte Alla Hjärtans Dag. Ändå fick den numera jordgubbsdoftande Ylva både tulpaner och ett lyxigt kit med spa-produkter från Body Shop (gissa vilken doft!). Själv hade hon misslyckats med att införskaffa utsedd present – prylen fanns inte på den närmaste butiken i den butikskedja som för denna produkt. Det får ordnas i annan butik en annan dag. Tanken var i alla fall god.

We don't celebrate Valentine's Day. Still the nowadays strawberry scented Ylva received both tulips and a luxurious kit of spa products from Body Shop (guess which fragrance!). She herself had failed in getting the chosen present – the gizmo was not to be found at the nearest shop in the chain that keeps this line of goods. It will have to be fixed in another shop another day. The intention was good though.

Dimma i Tyresö/Fog in Tyresoe

Vädret är inte alltid så trevligt i Stockholmsområdet. Vi stannar inte ute så länge i denna grå tråkighet. Tro det eller ej, men nedtill har vi fotograferat Tyresö Båtklubb på ungefär 50 meters håll. Ogenomtränglig dimma gör det omöjligt att se båtarna.

The weather isn't always that nice in the Stockholm area. We don't stay outside for very long in this grey dullness. Believe it or not, but at the bottom we have photographed Tyresoe Boat Club at about 50 metres (55 yards) distance. Impenetrable fog makes it impossible to see the boats.

Vinter i Arklo/Winter in Arklo

På väg för att hälsa på Ylvas far passerade vi sommarstället. Husen står ännu.

On our way to visit Ylva's father we passed the summer place. The houses still stand.

Nytillskottet/The new addition

Sigges bror Urban fick sitt första barnbarn i januari. Lilla Isabelle kom och hälsade på tillsammans med sina föräldrar Erica och Andreas.

Sigge's brother Urban had his first grandchild in January. Little Isabelle came for a visit with her parents Erica and Andreas.

Tupp till middag/Rooster for dinner

På fredag kväll åt vi middag – Coq au vin – med släkt och vänner. Uppe fr v: Roger, Britt, John, Anette. Nere fr v: Johanna, Maggan, Urban, Jennifer.

Plötsligt till Kramfors/Suddenly to Kramfors

På väg hem från högtidssammankomsten på onsdag kväll bestämde vi oss för att bortse från allt och fara upp till Kramfors nästa dag. Och det gjorde vi. Så här såg det ut där uppe. Mindre slask än i Stockholm.

On our way home from the Commemorative Meeting on Wednesday night we decided to disregard everything and go up to Kramfors the next day. And so we did. This is how it looked up there. Less slush than in Stockholm.

Akademiens högtidssammankomst 2009/The Academy's Commemorative Meeting 2009

Förra veckan deltog vi i Kungl. Skogs- och Lantbruksnämndens 196:e högtidssammankomst (det var andra gången för oss). Den hölls i Stadshuset, med själva mötet i Blå hallen och middag i Gyllene Salen. Prinsessan Christina Fru Magnuson och generalkonsul Tord Magnuson hedrade mötet med sin närvaro. Bakom prinsessan skymtar akademiens preses Sara von Arnold, till höger vice preses Åke Bruce.

Last week we participated in the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry's 196th Commemorative Meeting (it was the second time for us). It was held in the City Hall, the actual meeting in the Blue Hall and dinner in the Golden Hall. Princess Christina Mrs Magnuson and Consul-General Tord Magnuson honoured the meeting with their presence. Behind the princess the Academy's president Sara von Arnold is seen, to the right vice president Åke Bruce.
