Föryngring på gång/Rejuvenation going on

Dagens promenad passerade det gamla tillhållet Älvsjö station och torg. Det är inte mycket som är sig likt. Denna bild är tagen stående framför biblioteket. Numera finns också en stor inomhusparkering för cyklar – ett riktigt bra initiativ.
Today's walk passed the old haunt Älvsjö station and square. Not much looks as it did. This picture is taken standing in front of the library. Nowadays there is also a large indoor parking for bicycles – a really good initiative!

En grå dag/A grey day

Idag gled gryningen över till skymning utan att vi ens märkte det – grått, grått, grått. Turligt nog finns det promenadstråk som är trevliga att besöka även i detta trista ljus. Och nu finns det ny information uppsatt om de mer intressanta platserna längs stigen. Så här såg Nyfors med all säkerhet ut just idag och kanske hur det såg ut år 1670, när denna plats var en viktig industriort.
Today dawn slipped over to dusk without us even noticing it – grey, grey, grey. Luckily there are walks nice to walk even in this gloomy light. And now there is new information on display about the more interesting spots along the trail. This is how Nyfors looked today, for sure, and maybe how it looked in the year 1670, when this place was an important industrial community.

Vinter vid stugan/Winter by the cottage

Vi for till den lilla stugan med en trappa som ska underlätta transporten från parkering till entré. Det var en strålande vacker dag, även om vi tycker att det är för tidigt för snö.

We went to the little cottage with a staircase which will facilitate the transport betweent parking place to entrance. It was a radiantly beautiful day, although we think it's too early for snow.

Omhändertagen skog/Taken care of forest

Senaste besöket i Älvsjöskogen avslöjade ännu fler åtgärder för att få folk att trivas där. Denna lilla oas i södra Stockholm har länge varit omhändertagen, stigarna är mycket välhållna o s v. Och nu har både villaägarföreningen och Älvsjö stadsdelsförvaltning gjort vad de kan för att informera om skogen.
The last visit in the Älvsjö forest revealed even more measures to get people to like it there. This little oasis in south Stockholm has been taken care of for long, the paths are very well kept and so on. And now both the estate owners' association and Älvsjö city area board has done what they can to give information about the forest.

Höst i Stockholm/Autumn in Stockholm

Nu har det blivit höst på riktigt även i Stockholm, och på sina håll är det höstigt på ett riktigt "elegant" sätt. De korrekt färgade löven har fallit på ett korrekt sätt från de korrekt formade träden, så att säga.
Now it has become autumn for real also in Stockholm, and here and there it's autumnlike in a quite "elegant" manner. The correctly colored leaves have fallen in a correct way from the correctly shaped trees, so to speak.

Höstsemester/Fall vacation

Det var en rätt trist sommar i år. Vi kände att vi behövde lite mer ljus och sol och for söderut för att fånga det. Vi hade en underbar vecka på Turkiets sydkust.
It was quite a boring summer this year. We felt that we needed a little more light and sun and went south to catch that. We had a wonderful week on the south coast of Turkey.

Förortsnöjen/Suburban entertainment

Dagens promenad avslutades i ett regnigt men festligt multikulturellt förortscentrum. Det var inte varmt. Magdans med hutter och gåshud?
Today’s walk ended in a rainy but festive multi cultural suburban centre. It wasn’t warm. Belly dance with shivering and goose bumps?

Annorlunda möten/Different meetings

Vad gör man för att sysselsätta sig i storstaden en söndag? Tar en promenad förstås och det kan betyda annorlunda möten. Först dök en mystisk, men synbarligen glad, figur upp. Sedan första djurmötet på sträckan – och i Sveriges huvudstad är det förstås inte en fånig liten hund eller så, utan en biffko.


What do you do to have something to do in the big city on a Sunday? Take a walk of course and that can mean odd meetings. First a mysterious, but obviously happy, character showed up. Then the first meeting with an animal on the distance – and in the capital of Sweden that naturally is not a silly little dog or so, but a beef cow.

Räcke/Railing

Steg 1 när man ska bygga altanräcke: skaffa en lastbil att stå på. Men snyggt blev det!
Step 1 when building a balcony railing: get a truck to stand on. But it turned out looking great!

Sommarminnen/Summer memories

Sommaren försvinner, minnena finns kvar. Ångermanland, foppatoffelns förlovade land. Fast dessa är förstås kopior köpta till det facila priset om ca 50 kr på Dollar Store, i sann Kramforsanda.
Summer disappears, memories remain. Ångermanland province, the promised land for the foppa slipper. Although these are copies of course, bought to the reasonable price of about $5 at Dollar Store, in the true spirit of Kramfors.

Bäckfiske/Creek fishing

En sen afton for Sigge, John, Urban och Fredrik och fiskade i en bäck. Äventyret startade med punktering mitt i skogen. Som tur var fanns Andreas i närheten och kunde komma och hjälpa till. Författaren av detta har fortfarande inte sett resultatet av fisket.

One late night Sigge, John, Urban and Fredrik went fishing in a creek. The adventure started with a flat tire in the middle of the forest. Luckily Andreas was near by and could come an help. The author of this still hasn't seen any result from the fishing.

Sjöfiske/Lake fishing

En solig kväll for vi till stugan, tog båten och fiskade. Den ende som fick något, en gädda, var Fredrik.
One sunny evening we went to the cottage, took the boat and went fishing. The only one who got anything, a pike, was Fredrik.

Ny altan/New balcony

Under semestern flyttade vi in i "affären". Ett akut projekt var altanen. Urban hjälpte till i början, Fredrik hjälpte till i slutet, däremellan gjorde Sigge det mesta. Nu har Fido en bra plats att tillbringa soliga kvällar på, även om det fortfarande saknas räcke.

During the vacation we moved into "the store". An acute project was the balcony. Urban helped in the beginning, Fredrik helped at the end, in between Sigge did the most. Now Fido has a good place to spend sunny evenings at, even if a railing is still missing.

Liten kombobåt/Little combo boat

Vattnet är grunt vid vårt hus. Det kräver vissa egenskaper av en båt. Nu har vi ett gulligt litet underverk som klarar både att segla och gå för motor med samma glada humör.
The water is shallow by our house. That demands certain qualities in a boat. Now we have a cute little miracle that manages both to sail and to go by motor in the same happy mood.

Semester!/Vacation!

Äntligen semester! Liksom katten Fido tillbringar vi mycket tid på klipporna i eftermiddagssolen.
Vacation at last! Like Fido the cat we spend much time on the cliffs in the afternoon sun.
